St. Modwenna of Scotland (possibly 6th Century) St. Modwenna was born and trained in the ways of the religious life in Ireland. Soon, she came to Scotland, where she is said to have founded seven churches. One was said to have been on the site occupied by the Castle of Edinburgh, one on the Castle Hill in Stirling and one at Longforgan in Perthshire. She has become hopelessly confused with St. Modwenna of Burton-upon-Trent and St. Monenna.
