Nothing is known of Sir Ascamore's background. He was a Knight of the Round Table who fought for King Arthur during the anti-tribute wars against Rome, when he was wounded by the King of Libya in Gaul. In later years, he was one of those who joined Sir Mordred's conspiracy to catch Sir Lancelot and Queen Guinevere in flagrante delicto. When they were successful, Ascamore was, unfortunately, killed by Lancelot outside the Queen's bedchamber. |
