Sir Florence Arthurian Literary Character Sir Florence was Sir Gawain's second son, but the eldest by Guilorete, Sir Brandiles' sister. He became a Knight of the Round Table but, like his brother Lovel, he joined the anti-Guinevere conspirators under his uncles, Mordred and Agravaine. When they caught the Queen in bed with Sir Lancelot, he was killed during the fighting which led to the great knight’s escape. The identical name of Gawain’s companion in the Continental Wars is probably due to confusion with his son, though the events took place long before his birth.
