St. Edith of Aylesbury (Early 7th Century) St. Edith of Aylesbury was daughter of the great pagan warrior king, Penda of Mercia. With her sister, St. Edburga of Bicester, she built a small monastery, on land given by her father, at Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. Here, the two educated their niece, St. Osith. Nothing else seems to be known about her.
