Anaraud the Crowned Hawk succeeded his father, Mermin Mawr, as King of Ynys Manaw in AD 682. Nothing is known of his reign, but he is clearly not the same character as the man of this name recorded in the Mabinogion Tale of 'Branwen'. He was followed by his son, Tutgual in the early 8th century and then his grandson, Iudgual. Records of King Anaraud date back to the 11th century. He is generally considered legendary.
