Sir Lovel
Arthurian Literary Character

Sir Lovel was the youngest of Sir Gawain's sons by Guilorete, the sister of Sir Brandiles. He became a Knight of the Round Table but, with his brother Florence, joined his uncles, Agravaine and Mordred, in their attempt to catch Sir Lancelot making love to Queen Guinevere. Lovel was killed as the trapped Lakeland knight forced his way to freedom.

The name is almost certainly taken from the famous Lovel family of Castle Cary, Morley, Titchmarsh and elsewhere.
