Morcant was the last British King of Bryneich. He inherited the much reduced lands of his father, Coledauc, in the mid-7th century, but probably ruled mostly in name only. He and any remaining members of his dynasty were probably defeated in battle by King Edwin of Deira. Records of King Morcant date back to the 10th century. He could be historic.
