Nynnio, King of Gwent & Glywysing
(c.540-c.595)
(Latin: Nennius; English: Ninnian)

Nynnio inherited his double kingdom from his father, King Erb, while his younger brother, Peibio, took on the lesser kingdom of Ergyng. The two brothers were always closely associated and presumabl allies. They are said to have fought off the legendary usurper, Rhita Gawr (the Giant), together. The Mabinogion attached story of 'Culhwch and Olwen' says that the two were so sinful that they were turned into oxen.

Nynnio was succeeded by his son, King Lywarch, and then his grandson, King Tewdrig.

Records of Nynnio date back to the 13th century. He is generally considered legendary.
