Pope makes a Joke!
|
- The Pope was in charge
of all Christians. He lived in Rome.
- In AD 598, the Pope saw
a group of Anglo-Saxon children for sale in a slave market.
- He noticed their
beautiful blonde hair and asked where they came from.
- He was told that they
were ‘Angles’.
- To this, the Pope
exclaimed, “They are not Angles. They are Angels!”.
- He later discovered that
these good-looking people were pagans.
- So the Pope decided to
send a missionary to persuade them to become Christians. He
sent St. Augustine.
