Follows his Lord
around
|
- This
is the home of Frithestan the Scop (pronounced
'Shop'). A scop is a Saxon
minstrel.
- He works for the thane
(lord) of this village. He sings in the thane's great hall
and often sleeps there, but he also likes his privacy and has his own grub-hut just outside the
gates.
- He is not there much as
he travels round with the thane to his different lands.
- He recites poems, tells
stories, sings songs and plays music to entertain the thane,
his family and his guests. He has a few other jobs too.
- His favourite story is 'Beowulf'.
